Dea and Avi first met in 2019 when they were working for the same company. It wasn't until the end of 2021, when Dea had already left to Philadelphia for her studies while Avi remained working for a different company in Jakarta, that they reconnected.

DMs turned into texts that turned into calls that led to Avi flying to New York in March 2022 to take Dea out on a proper date—their first face-to-face encounter since 2019. A few months later in August 2022, Avi brought his family to Dea's family home and the rest, well, was how we got here now.
